For Pottery painting
The price for painting depends on the item chosen, each piece is individually priced and includes: paint, glazing, firing and studio time of up to 2 hours.
If more time is needed to complete the painting of an item, a return visit can be made for a studio fee of £5
We can hold a ‘work in progress’ for 2 weeks from the start date of painting.
My Pottery studio will give an introduction to new painters on how to use the paints, and cannot accept responsibility for results where guidelines have not been followed.
Items brought in from outside cannot be painted in My Pottery, and only paints provided by My Pottery may be used.
My Pottery Staff are available to give advice on painting items, but may not be able to correct painting mistakes.
Minor colour variations may occur depending on how the item is painted
Minor imperfections are a result of the hand painted nature of the pottery, and the natural state of the clay and glaze.
Pottery items are fragile and broken pottery is extremely sharp. Any breakages will be charged at the full shelf price.
Collections
When painting is complete, the item will be left at My Pottery studio for glazing and firing. Studio staff will give an estimated date for collection. This is normally 1 week from the day painting is completed, and is usually after 1pm on the day given.
The estimated date cannot be guaranteed for completion due to the firing process and nature of the product, a degree of flexibility may be required.
If a deadline for completion of an item is required (ie. a birthday present) it is advised that it is painted two weeks in advance of the date needed.
Glazed and fired pottery will be kept for 2 weeks from the collection date.
My Pottery cannot take responsibility for how items are handled and used after collection from the premises, pottery is fragile and may be damaged if misused.
My Pottery can advise on the care and use of painted and glazed items i.e. dishwasher, microwave use.
Sending items by post
We are happy to send completed items by post, price will be advised at the time of painting, depending on size and weight of item. This will be sent by Royal Mail and a proof of posting will be obtained. If the item has not arrived after 21 days please contact My Pottery.

Clay impressions and plaster outprints
Full payment is due at time of briefing, only then will the commission be started. An expected completion date will be given. Studio staff will make contact when the commission is completed.
As these are bespoke pieces they cannot be changed once work has started. The expected completion date is an estimate due to the nature of the process, allowance must be made to enable any corrections, or kiln firing complications. For this reason any commissions needed for a specific date should be briefed well in advance.
Clay imprints usually take 5-6 weeks from when the imprint is made.
Plaster outprints usually take 3-4 weeks from when the imprint is made.
The actual time can vary due to the nature of the process. Studio staff will make contact when the commission is ready.
