FAQs
Do I need to book?
Yes, booking is necessary at the moment. We are open for 2 sessions daily Tuesday to Saturday 11am – 1pm and 2pm – 4 pm and 12pm to 2pm on Sundays
How does it work?
If you’re not familiar with how My Pottery works, it’s easy:
1. Choose a piece of pottery from our range of beautiful pieces and start thinking now about your design!
2. We’ll give you an introduction from how to use the paints to how to get the best results
3. Enjoy – you have two hours to relax and paint, and we are on hand if you need any advice.
4. Leave it with us – then come and pick up your items, glazed and fired, usually a week later
How much does it cost?
Our biggest price range is between £10 and £30. Bigger items like teapots, vases and big animal characters are above £30.
We don’t charge studio fee. All you pay is the cost of the pottery you choose to paint. If you can’t finish painting your pot and would like to come to continue decorating on another day, you will be charged £5 session fee.
When can I collect my pottery?
You will be given a date for collection of your finished pots. Normally it takes around a week after your painting session. Your pottery has to be glazed, loaded into the kiln and fired. The firing process takes at least 24 hours.
Can I have my pottery any quicker?
The only option for quicker collection is when you come just before glazing time. In this scenario you could have your pottery ready after 2 days. Please contact us to inquire about such event.
What happens if I don’t finish in time?
You are welcome to take your pottery home with you and bring it back to finish at another time. When you return for another session to finish your item(s) we charge Studio Fee £5 per decorator.
Are the paints safe for children and babies?
All our paints are nontoxic. They are water-based underglazes.
As they are ceramic paints we strongly advice not to let your children taste it.
